For the first topic of 2025, I would like to introduce the computer I use.
I built my own computer. It has old specs from a while ago, but so far it has not caused any major problems in creating music.
CPU
AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Main board
ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4
Memory
DDR 4, 32 GBytes
GPU
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER
Audio Interface
steinberg UR22C
Monitor Speaker
YAMAHA HS50M
簡単ですが、以上です。次回は使用ソフトをご紹介したいと思います。
That's it. Next time, I'll introduce the software I used.
DTM: Desktop Music (Episode 30)
This time, I will tell you about the software I am currently using. I used Windows OS and Cubase Pro as the DAW. The latest version of Cubase Pro is 14, but I cannot update it frequently, so I am stuck on 12. I primarily use HALion Sonic, which is included with Cubase Pro, as a VST instrument, and MODO Drum (IK Multimedia) as a drum sound source. The software uses physical modeling and allows for various customizations.
Now, here is the song for this topic. The title is "Dappled Sunlight." It starts with a natural comp guitar melody that expresses a scene of gentle sunlight, and develops into a slightly distorted guitar, synth, and piano solo. I hope you enjoy listening to it at your leisure.
It was a long time ago, but I had the opportunity to write a song about the lyrics of Tachibana Jyujyu-san’s lyrics. At that time, MIDI was still the only available technology, so no vocal tracks were available, and the melody was provided by soft-synth instrumental sounds. Some time later, audio format files became available for DTM, so I recorded the guitar and bass parts, made the vocal track using Vocariod (Gackpoid) I had started using at that time, and then created an MP3 version of the song. You can listen to the song here. Please listen to the version up to 2 minutes long. The title is "Morning Woke up from a Dream".
Now that computer vocals seem to have evolved even further, I decided to try out Synthesizer V, which I had been interested in for a while. I'm looking forward to using it, as it seems to allow for more precise control over vocal expression. Once I get it installed, I'd like to introduce some songs with vocals.
Today I would like to introduce a song called "A Crisp Morning". I'm not sure how well it matches the image of the title, but it's an instrumental song that mainly features an electric guitar, as is usual. It's very pleasant in a sunny morning, but it's still very cold, so it makes me feel tense.
